MO BETTER JAGUARS TRACK AND FIELD
LEAD. GUIDE. EDUCATE.
The Mo Better Jaguar (MBJ) organization is a Brooklyn-based program who’s mission is to lead, guide, and empower children to grow into successful, independent, college- educated athletes.
Our athletic programs increasingly provide opportunities to a large percentage of inner-city youth with the devotion to and intent of academic, emotional, and spiritual growth through the sport of football and track and field so that children learn to triumph over adversity.
History
Founded in 1995, the Mo Better Jaguar football team has won 15 North Jersey Pop Warner Division Championships in multiple divisions including, Jr. Pee Wee (ages 8-11), Jr. Midgets (ages 10 -13), and Midget (ages 11-15). In addition to winning 9 regional Championships and an undefeated Midget team that won the Eastern Region Division Championship at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida; our organization has produced many players who have gone on to play both college and professional football.
Strength in Stride: The Lady Jags Journey
In 2021, Dwayne Manigault—coach and former MBJ program football player—founded the Lady Jags, a track program for girls ages 7–13. The team made a powerful debut, earning gold in the 12U 4×200 m relay and silver in the 8U 55 m dash at the historic 114th Millrose Games.
Since then, the Lady Jags have continued to grow. From standout performances at the Colgate Women’s Games, Nike Indoor Nationals, and New Balance Outdoor Nationals to national titles at AAU and USATF meets, the girls have steadily built a reputation for consistency, grit, and excellence.
Now entering the 2025 outdoor season, the team has a record 10 Lady Jags athletes traveling to Savannah, Georgia, to compete at the 2025 USATF National Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships.
This milestone is a reflection not only of the girls' relentless commitment but also of the strength of the community around them—the coaches, parents, and teammates who show up every day to help each athlete reach her fullest potential.
The Program
The Lady Jags program is a year-round program beginning in early Fall with conditioning workouts to prepare for the indoor winter season (November-March), then transitioning to outdoor competition in the late spring, followed by successive summer meets leading up to national championships and the Junior Olympics.
In addition to practices two to three times a week, our athletes are committed to maintaining top academic standing and are also engaged in other activities such as dance, soccer, swimming, and music. Our athletes compete in both AAU and USATF competitions as well as local invitational meets.

The parents
The success of our Lady Jags not only depends on the hard work of our athletes and coaches, but on the service and dedication of our parents.
From coordinating transportation to and providing assistance at practices and meets, to organizing team outings, our parents ensure a positive and supportive atmosphere for the girls to compete and perform at their highest level on the track and beyond, as they become women of the future.
We need your support.
The success of the Mo Better Jaguars track and field team program draws upon the volunteer efforts of our athletes, coaches, and parents, as well as the generous donation and sponsorship from individuals and organizations. Support through individual donations and sponsorships goes towards helping leverage athlete and team registration fees, uniforms, transportation, and lodging fees. In-kind product donations (apparel, footwear, track equipment) or travel vouchers/certificates are also welcome.
